According to our Recovery and Resilience survey, only half of high street businesses had equipped their staff with gloves and masks as coronavirus lockdown eased and non-essential shops began to reopen.

All employers have a legal obligation to “protect the health, safety and welfare of their employees and other people who might be affected by their business”. Protective equipment, such as face masks and gloves, can help to keep them both Covid Secure and reassured at work.

Some businesses are also finding that providing disposable masks and gloves to customers provides a degree of reassurance on the premises as well – although it’s important to provide safe disposal facilities at exists as well.
