During the coronavirus crisis, those self-isolating, shielding, or simply nervous about venturing out can find changes to retail offerings and delivery methods useful and reassuring. As more than a million were shielding in June 2020 the numbers of people involved are very large.
But if each local business does this in isolation they may not make the most of opportunities to collaborate and share costs and systems. Working together on the development of new retail offers can benefit consumers and businesses alike – so discussing this with fellow local retailers could pay dividends all round.
Contact with local leaders among your high street community, a BID if there is one locally, or the council could reveal opportunities to make a difference in the midst of a crisis – and beyond.
